Charles E. Stokes Jr., PhD Scholarship Endowed Fund

The Charles E. Stokes Jr., PhD Scholarship Endowed Fund provides scholarship support to students in the academic departments of medicine, law, or science and engineering. The donor’s Last Will and Testament provides that Tulane University will have the unilateral and full right to decide who will receive the scholarships. Although it is the donor’s preference that scholarship support be extended to applicants who have completed at least one ( 1) year at Universidad Nacional del Altiplano, Puno, Peru, with a superior grade record on at least half the course work completed at the Universidad Nacional del Altiplano, the executor of the Estate of Charles E. Stokes Jr. has agreed that if no such student meets this criteria, Tulane may award these scholarships at its discretion to graduate students in one of the above disciplines who most closely meet this criteria.
